As a busy parent, mornings can be hectic. Trying to get everyone ready for the day, packing lunches, and getting out the door on time can leave little time for preparing a healthy breakfast. Make mornings easier with a few options that are easy enough for kids to take part! It's crucial to ensure they get enough protein to support their growth and development, so we made recommendations to ensure there’s enough in there to keep your little one focused and full too! 


Scrambled Tofu:  Tofu is an excellent source of plant-based protein and an easy alternative to scrambled eggs. Drain and press liquid from the tofu. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add crumbled tofu to the pan. Season with your choice of spices, such as turmeric, garlic powder, and nutritional yeast, and cook for 5-7 minutes until heated through. Kids can help toast whole-grain bread and sliced avocado for a well-rounded breakfast. Our Protein-Packed Breakfast Tacos are another tasty option too!


Protein-Packed Smoothies:  Smoothies are a quick and easy option that can be customized according to your child's preferences. Start with a base of frozen berries, banana, and your milk of choice. Then add protein-rich ingredients such as silken tofu, chia seeds, or nut butter. Experiment with different combinations until you find a recipe that your child loves! Children can help fill the blender and help operate the blend button with supervision!


Greek Yogurt Parfait: Greek yogurt is an excellent source of protein, and it's easy to customize with your favorite toppings. Layer Greek yogurt with your favorite fruits like fresh berries, sliced bananas or orange wedges, and granola for a delicious and nutritious breakfast that can be made ahead of time. Your kids can even assemble their own parfaits, adding in their favorite fruits and toppings.


Oatmeal with Nuts and Seeds:  Oatmeal is a classic breakfast option that's easy to make and customize according to your child's preferences. Start with plain rolled oats and cook with your choice of milk or water. Have kids add toppings like chopped nuts, seeds such as chia or hemp, berries, and honey. Make Ahead Breakfast Sandwiches: This is a quick and portable breakfast option that your child can heat up themselves. Once prepared they easily warm up in the microwave for a well-rounded breakfast on the go.
