  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 8-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Melt buttery spread in a medium skillet over medium-high heat; whisk in brown sugar and heat to a simmer. Simmer 2 minutes, whisking frequently; spread in bottom of prepared dish. Place bananas, cut side down, over butter mixture; sprinkle with pecans.
  3. Whisk egg, applesauce, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Whisk flours, baking powder, and cinnamon in a medium bowl; whisk into egg mixture until incorporated. Transfer to prepared dish.
  4. Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Run a knife around edge of cake to loosen; invert onto serving platter. Drizzle cake with any remaining liquid in the dish; cut into 8 pieces.
