With its tropical climate and fertile soils, Ecuador is the world’s biggest banana exporter, accounting for 30% of global exports.

The banana farms are close to Guayaquil, Ecuador’s largest town and most important sea port, so it is an ideal place for growing and exporting bananas. Soils are deep and productivity particularly high in the region.
