The Batch House - Stuffed Banana Bread
Batch House’s beloved Banana Bread was born out of the pandemic. When owner Cristina Agurcia was forced to close her restaurant in 2020, she got the idea to create a new recipe for a social media video that could replace her employees’ lost tips.

Her resulting creation, a banana bread filled with peanut butter, Nutella or cookie butter, immediately raised $5,000 and remains the first menu item to routinely sell-out every day. Its success even spawned an equally popular Batch House Banana Bread Cake.
Cristina acknowledges that while her Charlotte bakery and café makes oatmeal crème pies, gooey brownies and dozens of other cakes, cookies and cheesecakes, it’s the banana bread that locals and visitors know best. “Given the story behind its creation, it has a very special place in our hearts which makes this honor even more meaningful.”
