Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil 
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil 
  • 1 cup diced DOLE® White Onion 
  • 1/2 cup sliced DOLE Premium Celery Hearts 
  • 1 cup long-grain brown rice 
  • 2 firm green DOLE Bananas, peeled, cut into ¾-inch slices 
  • 2 cups low sodium chicken broth 
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 
  • Celery leaves for garnish, if desired

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil and sesame oil in saucepan. Add onions and celery hearts, sauté 4 minutes or until soft. Stir in rice and banana slices. Add chicken broth and salt.
  2. Bring broth to a boil, reduce to a simmer. Cover; cook 40 to 45 minutes or until broth is absorbed and rice is tender. Uncover and set aside for 5 minutes before serving.
