Ingredients

  • 8 bamboo skewers 
  • 20 spears of DOLE® Asparagus 
  • 1 tablespoon dark sesame oil 
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce 
  • 1 clove garlic, minced 
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Place skewers in a shallow roasting pan and cover with cold water; soak for 1 hour, then drain and set aside.

  2. Preheat broiler (or grill) to high. Snap off the woody ends of the asparagus and discard. Skewer 5 asparagus spears together, using 2 bamboo skewers, forming a raft shape, repeat with remaining asparagus.
  3. Combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, and garlic in a small bowl, and stir with a whisk to mix. Brush this mixture on the asparagus rafts on both sides.
  4. Place asparagus rafts on a broiler pan and place under broiler (or place on hot grill) and cook until nicely browned on both sides, 1 to 2 minutes. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds as they cook. Remove and serve.
