Fast and tasty asparagus side dish

1 tablespoon plus 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil, divided
1-1/4 teaspoons finely minced garlic, divided
1/4 plus 1/8 teaspoon grated fresh ginger, divided
 dash ground red pepper
1 pound DOLE® Asparagus, trimmed
2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons toasted sesame seed

STEP1

Direction

Preheat broiler. Line 15x10-inch jellyroll pan with foil.

STEP2
Ingredients

1 tablespoon plus 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil, divided
1-1/4 teaspoons finely minced garlic, divided
1/4 plus 1/8 teaspoon grated fresh ginger, divided
Dash ground red pepper

Direction

Stir together 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon garlic, 1/4 teaspoon ginger, and red pepper in shallow dish.

Ingredients

1 lb. DOLE Asparagus, trimmed

Direction

Toss asparagus in oil mixture to coat and arrange on jellyroll pan

Ingredients

2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1-1/4 teaspoons finely minced garlic, divided
1/4 plus 1/8 teaspoon grated fresh ginger, divided
1 tablespoon plus 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil, divided


Direction

Mix together  soy sauce, sugar, remaining 1/4 teaspoon garlic, and 1/8 teaspoon ginger in small bowl, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Stir in remaining 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil.

Ingredients

1 lb. DOLE Asparagus, trimmed

Direction

Broil the asparagus about 6 inches from the heat source for 8 minutes or until lightly browned and tender, turning once.

Place the asparagus on a serving platter.

Ingredients

2 teaspoons toasted sesame seed

Direction

Stir the sauce and drizzle over the asparagus. Sprinkle with  sesame seed.

*Note: To toast the sesame seed, put them in a small skillet over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the seeds are light brown. Watch carefully: sesame seed can burn quickly. Immediately transfer the seeds to a small dish and cool.
