Cauliflower
Cauliflower is an antioxidant Superfood because it is an excellent source of vitamin C (providing 100% of the Daily Value) and a top source of indirect antioxidants called glucosinolates. Studies from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine show that rather than directly neutralizing free radicals (unstable oxygen molecules), the ""indirect"" antioxidants work to stimulate the body's own natural detoxification systems. This cascade of antioxidant activity -- unlike the one-shot, finite amount you get from most direct antioxidants -- actually cycles over and over within the physiology, continuing to protect your system for as many as 3 to 4 days after the glucosinolate-containing food has been consumed. Italian researchers have recently demonstrated that actual cauliflower juice can suppress human breast cancer cell proliferation in a dose dependent manner.
