The DNI’s mission is three-fold: to provide the public with easily accessible, scientifically-validated information on nutrition and health through the Dole Nutrition News, social media, and educational materials; to make scientific discoveries in the Dole Nutrition Research Lab; and to create delicious and nutritious recipes made primarily with fresh fruits and vegetables.
The Dole Nutrition Research Lab is located on the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The NCRC, created by Mr. Murdock, provides a central location for corporations, universities and healthcare organizations to work as partners and transform science at the intersection of human health, nutrition and agriculture.
Dole scientists are currently exploring the nutritional properties of fruits and vegetables and how eating these foods may benefit human health. Specific areas of research at Dole include: antioxidants and other healthful compounds in fruits and vegetables, bananas as an energy source during exercise, and exercise recovery through proper nutrition.
