Wages

Dole pays wages and benefits that are competitive within its industry and that allow workers and their families to have a good standard of living commensurate with the societies in which they live and work.

Unions

Dole respects the freedom of the individual worker to join the union of his or her choice or to refrain from such membership. Employees who have chosen unions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations are entitled to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing.

Employee Welfare

Employee welfare and protection is a top priority. Dole complies with regulations concerning employee safety and the use of crop protection products. Workers in Dole farms are trained in safe application of crop protection products and are required to use personal protective clothing appropriate to their activities. Safe handling of these materials is supervised by professionals in occupational safety who correct problems on the spot. Workers who utilize crop protection products undergo periodic medical tests to ensure that there has been no harmful exposure. Dole invests in training and education programs for its workforce in order to continuously promote safe work habits.

Child Labor

Dole does not knowingly purchase products from any commercial producers who violate applicable child labor laws, and it is Dole's policy to observe all local labor laws.
