DOLE Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala - ISO 14001 Certification

In May 1999, Dole's affiliate in Honduras, Agropecuaria el Porvenir S.A. (Agropor) was certified to the International Organization for Standardization's requirements (ISO 14001) for environmental management systems (EMS). Operations included in the certification are the cultivation, harvesting, packing, and cold storage of fresh pineapples, as well as fruit salad production.

In June 1999, Dole's Maya Division (formed by Standard Fruit de Honduras, Standard Fruit de Nicaragua, Standard Fruit de Guatemala, and Standard Fruit de Honduras in Valle de Sula), was certified to ISO 14001. The scope of this operation's certification includes the cultivation, harvesting, and packing of bananas in all company-owned farms and the program for independent producers in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Sula Valley, Honduras.
